Situated in the Konkan region on India's southwest coast, Goa is geographically isolated from the Deccan highlands by the Western Ghats.It is bordered to the north by Maharashtra, to the east and south by Karnataka, and to the west by the Arabian Sea. Dekhnni, Fugdi, Corridinho, Mando, Dulpod, and Fado are examples of traditional Goan art forms. In Goa, rice and fish curry are staple foods. Goan cuisine is well-known for its wide range of intricately prepared fish dishes. Along with chili peppers, spices, and vinegar, coconut and coconut oil are frequently used in Goan cookery, giving the food a distinctive flavor. Portuguese food has a strong effect on Goan cuisine.
