Phewa Lake (Phewa Tal) is Nepal's second-largest freshwater lake, located in the Pokhara Valley at an elevation of 742 meters. Famed for its pristine waters and stunning reflections of the Annapurna mountain range, it features the iconic Tal Barahi Temple on a central island. Origins: Geologically young, the lake is either a remnant of a former, much larger basin or formed by the damming of tributaries by Seti River sediments. It is stream-fed, primarily by the Harpan Khola, with its water level regulated by a dam. Size & Elevation: It covers an area of approximately 4.43 to 4.44 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of 742 meters above sea level.
