Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park is Mongolia’s most accessible wilderness retreat. Located just 70 kilometers northeast of Ulaanbaatar, the park features striking alpine meadows, sweeping valleys, and dramatic granite rock formations. It is a premier destination for hiking, horseback riding, and experiencing traditional Mongolian ger camps.

Wildlife & Nature: The evergreen forests and pure Tuul River headwaters are home to brown bears, over 250 bird species, and diverse local flora. Outdoor Activities: The park is ideal for trekking, rock climbing, and guided horseback tours. Ariyabal Meditation Temple: A peaceful Buddhist monastery perched on a hillside, offering panoramic views of the valley below.

You can reach Terelj National Park from different ways like there are direct flights, direct trains as well as direct buses services available for Terelj National Park.

BY Air : To reach Terelj National Park by air, fly into Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. From there, the park is about 60–66 km (an approximate 1.5 to 2.5-hour drive) to the southeast. You can complete the journey by hiring a private transfer, a taxi, or booking a day tour. A passport with a validity of at least six months and a visa are required for entry into Jordan.

BY Taxi : Taking a taxi is the most convenient way to reach Terelj National Park from Ulaanbaatar, though finding a ride back requires pre-planning. The 60–87 km journey takes 1.5 to 2 hours, with fares ranging from 150,000 MNT to 220,000 MNT (roughly $45 to $65 USD) for a one-way trip.
